So no run yesterday or today! Thanks to SNOW! I thought I moved south to get AWAY from all that MESS! With the snow/ice situation Aaron did not want me running in it--I agree I don't want to fall. So today I will do some prenatal yoga and try again for a run tomorrow. ooh this would be SO much easier with a TREADMILL!

Nice, quiet morning run
Over the weekend I talked with Aaron about how I have been missing my run so much lately. I talked with him about how I wished that it would be easier to get out there, but with Aiden and low temps I did not want to go lately. He suggested that I went before he left for work (when I used to run). He doesn't need to leave until 7, so if I jet at 6 I can take the car, run at the lake, and be back by 6:45. So last night I set everything out and told him to PUSH me out of bed if he has to, but that I really want to go. I got up this morning and hit the road. I had a GREAT run at the lake. I ran 2 mi--no they weren't fast but they felt good. I am planning on getting back out there tomorrow AM too! I am just a little tired now...luckily Aiden went down for a nap, so hopefully I can catch a little one too!

Long Month...Little Running
So this has been a long, cold month of very little running. Things are going well with Baby S and I have been potty training Aiden--so we should soon be out of diapers and solely wearing Big Boy UNDERPANTS! I have ran a few miles, but no where near where I want to be--how wonderful it would be if the treadmill fairy dropped one off in my living room (or if the FREE Gym membership fairy came by!) I find that with REALLY cold temps...I cannot run with Aiden as much--I try to wait for the warmest parts of the days so that he is not too cold. I am trying to get out today for an evening run (I was supposed to hit the road at 5AM-well that didn't happen). So hopefully I will get out there tonight and get another post in afterwards...

Missing the run...
So I have not ran since New Years Day. I feel like such a bum! I had the weekend off as Rest Days, yesterday just did not work out for me. Since I run with Aiden, I have to take into account the cold. Lately it has been VERY cold, for middle Tenn, so I have been trying to wait and run with him in mid afternoon, when it is warmest, but I did not get out there yesterday. Instead I talked with a friend, whom I have not heard from since moving from Illinois and I found out she was pregnant too! Due 1 day before me! So we had a great time catching up and by the time we were off the phone, the sun was gone.
I am thinking about changing my running routine--at least while the weather is still so cold. Instead of running with Aiden (I don't want him to get sick) I am going to *try* to get up around 5:45-6 and run before Aaron leaves for work. I think it will work out better, especially now that I am getting my energy back! So we will have to give it a try tomorrow morning and see how it goes!

First Annual Melissa Stormer Resolution Run 5K!
I started out the year with a 5k race/run. Baby S and I went out Luther Lake and ran 5k, then walked a mile. It was a great spend time in prayer and thinking about how the past year has changed me and challenged me to grow spiritually and in my marriage. This has been such a season of change. I am looking forward to 2010!
My run was great, it was very nice to get out and run. I ran the furthest that I have since finding out that I was pregnant. It was definitely slower than I ran pre-pregnancy but I was pretty consistent, I ran each mile around 10 min. Today is typically an off day, but I thought what a way to start the New Year~
God is Good ALL the Time!

I'm Back!!!
So I have now been a VERY bad blogger--but I have a GREAT excuse! The last time I blogged I was feeling so worn out and found it very hard to get my runs in...well it turns out I am PREGNANT! I feel so blessed! I am about 11 wks along. I initially took a break from running. With the recent miscarriage, I was afraid to do anything too strenuous . I have made it through the icky morning sickness and am starting to feel re-energized! I had my 3 mo appointment today and things look great! I have been running again for about 2 wks. After talking to my Dr, she encouraged me to keep running and told me if she felt like there was any risk or need for me to stop she would let me know. So WE are back on the road again-Aiden, Me, and Baby Stormer! I have had to modify my goals for 2010-I am planning on a few 5ks during the first half of the year, and hope to run another half marathon in Nov. I also have lowered my mileage to 12-15 miles a week, at most-currently my longest run in 2 mi and I run 5 days a wk. Again I feel so blessed for all I have in my life!

Bad Blogger! VERY BAD RUNNER!
So, it has been a few weeks since my last post! VERY bad of me! It has been a crazy few weeks, we had sickness at home, then a quick trip to see family in east Tenn. I have been a bad blogger, but an even worse RUNNER! It has been increasingly harder for me to get up in the morning to run, I have been so tired lately, that I *try* to squeeze in running when I can, but it has dropped on the priority list. I did have a couple of good runs over the past few weeks. My favorite was on Sunday I ran 5 mi and during that run troops were coming home so there were people lined up throughout town on the street with flags to show their appreciation. I thought that I was going to finish the run without seeing the troops come through, but on my last half mile they passed in 4 buses. It was amazing to see the look of excitement and happiness on these brave soldiers face was wonderful! That made my run worth it!
So I have started making my 201o race calendar in hopes of keeping the fire alive, this is where I am so far:
Frostbite Half-Marathon-Feb 13
Illinois Marathon-May 1
Well, that it for now!
